BIOGRAPHY
ABOUT HARU
Her first creative experience was natural arts by using raw materials at the country side which is surrounded by beautiful ocean and mountains. She started Japanese calligraphy and modern and creative ballet when she was 8 years old. Her activities were not only dance and calligraphy but also haiku, literary arts and more.
DANCE EXPERIENCE
Haru has been learning ballet since she was 8 years old and Jazz dance since she age 21 in Japan. She also choreographed performance pieces with a few dancers and musicians. She moved to London to study contemporary dance, choreography and movement theory at Trinity Laban conservatoire of Music and Dance. She graduated in 2015 with Diploma in Dance Studies and the Mary Zemke Memorial Fund Prize. Outside of her studies, she works some collaboration projects with a wide variety of artists: a photographer, composer, musician, picture book author and fine artists. She was arrowed to join Taipei Fringe Festival as a dancer, choreographer and assistant director.
In 2020, she established the company " I/O Multimedia Performance Company " with Teruki Okamoto who Is a juggler and a media artist and took part in several international festivals including Edinburgh Festival Fringe since 2021.
JAPANESE CALLIGRAPHIC EXPERIENCE
Haru started Japanese calligraphy when she was 8 years old through her older brother's influence. She started to make original pieces at when the age of 18. After enrolling in Nihon University College of Art, she organised art unit G5, furthermore, she then held an exhibition with G5, who was admired by professors of their university and were invited to the opening ceremony of nursing home residents as one of the College’s representatives. Haru also received requests to make titles for films, company slogans, individual customers, and some large companies, both in Japan and overseas. She was given master license.
